Luis Baca Death: The San Bernardino community is mourning the loss of Luis Baca, affectionately known as “Louie the King,” who passed away on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, at 6:25 p.m. after a prolonged battle with liver and kidney failure. Luis was surrounded by his loved ones at home, in accordance with his wishes to spend his final days in peace and comfort. Luis Baca’s journey with liver failure began on May 7th, 2024, when he received his diagnosis. Initially, doctors were hopeful that with proper treatment and lifestyle changes, he could manage his condition for several years. Unfortunately, despite his and his family’s best efforts, Luis’s health took a turn for the worse, leading to end-stage renal failure. The idea of a simultaneous liver and kidney transplant was eventually ruled out due to the severe impact the treatments were having on his heart.
On June 18th, Luis experienced a critical health crisis when he became unresponsive and stopped breathing, requiring emergency intervention. Though he survived this scare, his health continued to decline. By August 19th, the difficult decision was made to bring him home under hospice care, where he spent his remaining days surrounded by his family, who lovingly cared for him until he passed away. Luis Baca was known for his infectious sense of humor, a trait he maintained even during his extended hospital stays. His humor and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Luis also had a profound love for music, a passion he shared with his family. In his memory, his family is creating a special playlist, a tribute to the music that brought him joy throughout his life.
Following Luis’s wishes, he will be cremated, and his family is planning a celebration of his life. To help cover the costs of his cremation and memorial service, his daughter, Jessica Baca, has organized a GoFundMe campaign. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $470 out of its $3,500 goal. The family is deeply appreciative of the support received so far and continues to seek contributions from the community. The community has expressed its condolences and shared fond memories of Luis on social media. Sandra Cristina, a family friend, posted on Facebook, “Dear family and friends, if you have a moment of your day to donate towards my boyfriend’s dad services, RIP MR BACA.” These messages of support have been a source of comfort for the Baca family during this challenging time.
Luis Baca’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported them and invites those who knew him to contribute to the fundraiser or share a special song in his honor. Luis’s legacy of love, humor, and music will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. For those wishing to support the Baca family, donations can be made through the GoFundMe campaign set up by Jessica Baca. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps the family provide Luis with the respectful and loving farewell he deserves. The family also welcomes anyone to share a special song in Luis’s memory, a gesture that reflects his enduring love for music and the joy it brought to his life.
