Luca Kukuk Obituary, Death; – The 22-year-old man from Pace, who tragically lost his life in a head-on collision with a DUI suspect in Santa Rosa County last week, has been identified as Luca Kukuk. According to previous reports from WEAR News, the accident occurred on Thursday night on Woodbine Road in Pace.
The Florida Highway Patrol has charged 33-year-old Leslie Highstreet, also from Pace, with DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death. Authorities indicate that Highstreet’s pickup truck collided head-on with a 2017 Nissan Versa.
In the arrest report obtained by WEAR News on Tuesday, Kukuk is confirmed as the deceased victim in the Nissan Versa, having been pronounced dead at the scene. Woodbine Church in Pace shared a post on Facebook on Monday, stating: “Luca was a kind and generous young man with a heart devoted to God. He exemplified integrity and grace. He selflessly contributed his time and talents and was a friend to all who knew him.”
A celebration of life for Kukuk is scheduled for Saturday at the church located at 5200 Woodbine Road. Family visitation will occur from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by the service. Kukuk had been employed at the Chick-fil-A on Bayou Boulevard in Pensacola for the past six years, where he most recently held the position of store supervisor.
In a Facebook post, Chick-fil-A Bayou Boulevard expressed, “We ask for your prayers and support for his family as well as our team during this time of mourning. At just 22 years old, Luca was an extraordinary individual who deeply loved God and others. He was a dedicated worker and a cherished friend to our team and community over the past six years. His absence has created a significant void in our hearts, and we appreciate your care and understanding during this difficult period.” The store also released a video in memory of Kukuk.
