Born on September 10, 1982, in Dundalk, Ireland, Louise was the daughter of Edward Higgins and Dymphna McKenna. She was raised in Dundalk, where she developed a deep connection to her Irish roots, before moving to Rockland County, New York, where she would go on to establish a life that touched the hearts of many.

As the owner and operator of Café Diem in West Nyack, Louise was a beloved figure in the community. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ruairi Duffy, and their five beloved children: Nicole, Emma, Jane, Shea, and Leo. Louise’s love for her family was immeasurable, and she was a doting mother and wife, always putting her family first. She is also survived by her cherished grandchild, Amelia, who brought her much joy in her later years.
Louise’s extended family, including her father Edward, brothers Sean, Liam, Oisin, and David, and sisters Angela and Danielle, will remember her not only for her strength and determination but for the deep love she shared with them all. Visiting hours will be held from 2-6 pm on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 25, 2024, at St. Aedan R.C. Church, followed by burial at Rockland Cemetery. The family has requested that those attending the funeral celebrate Louise’s life by wearing colorful attire, reflecting her joyful spirit and the vibrancy she brought to the lives of those around her.
