Lorraine Weikel Death – On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Lorraine ‘Rain’ Gail Weikel, who was 63 years old and lived in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, departed this world while surrounded by her devoted family. All of those who had the honor of knowing her are left with a hole in their hearts as a result of her demise. Lorraine was the daughter of Carl W. Nelson, Sr. and Winifred P. (Clark) Nelson, who both passed away before her birth.
Lorraine was born in Chester and lived in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania. She and her cherished husband, Joseph Samuel Weikel, were married for thirty years while they were together. She received her nursing license from Methodist Hospital in 1982 after graduating from Sun Valley High School in 1978. Lorraine is a devoted nurse who graduated from Sun Valley High School. Immaculata University awarded her a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 2020.
She decided to extend her study and earned both degrees from the institution. During the course of her career, Lorraine worked at Methodist Hospital as an intensive care unit nurse, and she eventually became a nurse manager there. Through her compassion and unflinching optimism, she left an indelible mark on the lives of countless patients, colleagues, and families in the South Philadelphia region. Her influence was deep.
Lorraine, a devout member of the congregation at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, discovered that her faith provided her with both peace and strength. Not only was Lorraine well-known for her professional accomplishments, but she was also well-known for her cooking skills and the time she valued spending with her family. Her cherished puppy, Fitzy, was by her side at all times and brought her a great deal of happiness.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Samantha Elena Weikel, who resides in San Francisco, California. She is also survived by her siblings, Lynn Marie Galbraith (Bill), who resides in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Carl W. Nelson, Jr., who is in Milton, Delaware. She is also survived by a large number of family members, including grandnieces, grandnephews, nieces, and nephews.
On Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, beginning at 9:15 AM and continuing until 10:15 AM, friends and family are cordially welcomed to pay their respects at St. Thomas The Apostle Church. This will be followed by a religious service at 10:30 AM. Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pennsylvania is going to be the location of the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in respect of Lorraine’s unwavering commitment to assisting others, even in the face of tragedy. All those who knew her may continue to be inspired by the legacy of kindness and compassion that she left behind.
