Lister Mora Prudencio Obituary, Death; – A 47-year-old individual, identified as Lister Mora Prudencio from Bakersfield, was tragically struck by a vehicle on Edison Highway on Sunday evening.
According to the Kern County coroner, the incident occurred at approximately 10:41 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Avenue overpass, where Prudencio succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol reported that officers were dispatched to the location on Sunday, March 9, following a notification of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Initial investigations by the CHP revealed that a 46-year-old driver was operating a 2004 Toyota Scion westbound on Edison Highway in the second lane. At that moment, Prudencio attempted to cross Edison Highway on foot, outside of a designated crosswalk, directly into the path of the oncoming Toyota.
The driver was unable to avoid a collision with Prudencio. The CHP confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the authorities.
