Linda Vella Obituary, Death Cause – On Friday, the body of a woman was found among the wreckage of a boat that had caught fire at a port on Stock Island. The fire had occurred earlier in the week. The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office is still hard at work trying to determine the identities of the dead and collecting the results of the autopsy. As of Friday, it was not believed that any kind of foul play was involved in the incident.
The Viking boat that Linda Vella, who is 51 years old and from St. Petersburg, Florida, was aboard when it caught fire at a marina situated at 7101 Shrimp Road at around 12:10 in the morning on Wednesday. Investigators had the idea that Vella was unable to escape the vessel owing to the fire and was still present on board throughout the subsequent search. This led them to believe that Vella was still missing.
Immediately after the blaze, residents of St. Petersburg, Florida, Michael Kenneth Robson, 58, and Anthony Joseph Vella, 21, were sent to a hospital in Miami for treatment. Anthony Joseph Vella is not just Vella’s name, but also the name of her husband and son.
since of the fire, the boat had to be lifted out of the water very gently before it could be searched. This was necessary since the fire had jeopardized the boat’s structural integrity. During the course of the investigation into the event, the Monroe County Fire Rescue, the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, and officials from the marina all offered their help to the investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Division.
