Leeds Shooting Investigations: A man was shot in Leeds today, and detectives are investigating. The ambulance service called police at 2.47 p.m. after being dispatched to the incident on Stainbeck Road. Armed cops responded to the location around the intersection with Stainbeck Avenue, where they discovered the man with a gunshot wound further along Stainbeck Road.
The victim, a 27-year-old local male, was transported to the hospital via ambulance for emergency care. He is stable, and his injuries are not life-threatening. A vast scene has been set up to conduct forensic examination and specialist searches, and it will remain in place overnight. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take other routes.
Detectives from the West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team have begun an investigation.
