Lawrence Wyatt Obituary – The deceased contractor in the incident at a Georgia cold warehouse facility has been identified as Lawrence Wyatt, 54, according to the coroner’s office as reported by WTOC-TV. Effingham County Fire Rescue was called to the Americacold facility on Friday morning at approximately 8:20 a.m. after an employee was found unresponsive.
Authorities reported that a chemical pesticide used for treating fruits and vegetables was released at the site. Emergency crews, along with EMS, spent about seven hours filtering the area, conducting air tests inside the building every half hour. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating to determine if the pesticide played a role in the man’s death.
The cause of Wyatt’s death has not been disclosed, and an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
