Larry Gibson Obituary, Death; – A woman is facing legal charges following a fatal accident that occurred in the morning, as reported by the Greensboro Police Department.
On Thursday at approximately 9 a.m., law enforcement officers, along with Greensboro Fire and Guilford County EMS, responded to the scene on Summit Avenue near Spry Street after receiving reports of a collision. Authorities stated that 19-year-old Princess Alston was operating a Chevrolet on Summit Avenue when she veered left of center, entering the northbound lanes and striking a pedestrian who was walking along the shoulder. Subsequently, the vehicle collided with a utility pole.
The pedestrian, identified as 71-year-old Larry Gibson, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Alston did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
She has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, driving left of center, and simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance. The Greensboro Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently conducting an investigation.
