Washington was a dedicated public servant who left a profound impact on the legal field through his work in law and public service.
Education and Early Life
LaRone Washington was born in Charleston, South Carolina, to Larry and Angelia Washington. He was the youngest of three children, with two older sisters, DaKysha and Kimyatta. He pursued his higher education at Wofford College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. His academic pursuits also included a Government minor and a certificate in African/African-American Studies, where he was part of the inaugural class for this specialized program.
Washington’s passion for justice and community service led him to further his education at the Charleston School of Law, graduating with the Class of 2010. He was officially sworn into the South Carolina Bar in November of the same year, marking the beginning of what would become a distinguished legal career.
Legal Career
Washington began his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Michael G. Nettles in Florence, South Carolina. This opportunity provided him with valuable insight into the workings of the legal system. His desire to serve the public and uphold justice saw him take on the role of Assistant Solicitor in the 3rd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
However, it was his work at the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office that truly defined his career. As the Assistant Attorney General and Director of Insurance Fraud, Washington played a pivotal role in combating insurance fraud across the state. His leadership in this position showcased his commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring accountability in the insurance industry.
Personal Life
Washington married Dr. Nicole White Washington on March 14, 2015. Together, they built a loving family and were blessed with their first child, Avery Denise Washington, born on November 29, 2017. He cherished his time with his family, and those who knew him best spoke of his dedication to both his loved ones and his career.
In addition to his professional achievements, Washington was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling, and was a devoted Carolina Panthers football fan. His ability to balance his demanding career with personal hobbies and family time demonstrated his remarkable character and dedication to living a fulfilling life.
