Kumar Narine Missing Person – A desperate search is underway for 17-year-old Kumar Narine, an overseas-based Guyanese teenager who was last seen on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m. as he was heading towards the Cross Bay Bridge in Queens, New York. His sudden disappearance has left family, friends, and the local community on edge, with a concerted effort from both authorities and civilians working tirelessly to locate him.

According to reports, Kumar was last seen riding a blue bicycle while wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants, gray Crocs, and carrying a gray backpack. He is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 125 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and glasses. These details have been widely circulated through missing persons flyers on social media and community bulletin boards in the hope of reaching anyone who may have seen him or has information about his whereabouts.

Kumar’s disappearance has sparked significant concern not only in the local community of Queens but also within the Guyanese diaspora, particularly those who live overseas. His story has garnered attention from various community groups, with many individuals rallying together to amplify the search efforts. Friends, family members, and concerned citizens have been actively sharing the flyer online, spreading awareness and calling for action. The young teenager’s absence has left a significant emotional impact on the overseas-based Guyanese community, many of whom are anxiously awaiting news of his safe return.

In the wake of Kumar’s disappearance, his relatives, including his family members Navin and Kungie, have been vocal in their plea for help. They have made repeated appeals to the public, urging anyone who may have seen Kumar or knows anything about his current location to come forward. Navin, visibly distressed but hopeful, has made himself available for inquiries through phone and text at 917-417-1757, while Kungie can be contacted at 917-463-7609. Additionally, the family has been distributing the missing persons flyer throughout local neighborhoods and community centers in hopes of gathering more information.

Local authorities, including the New York Police Department (NYPD), have joined the search efforts, with investigators actively pursuing leads and following up on tips from the community. The NYPD has emphasized that the safety and well-being of Kumar remain their highest priority. Officers have been focusing their search on areas surrounding where he was last seen, including local parks and busy streets, with the hope that community insights and information will aid in the investigation. “We are doing everything we can to bring Kumar home safely,” a representative from the NYPD stated. “We urge anyone with any information to contact us immediately.”

The family has also called for continued community involvement in the search, stressing the importance of a united effort in bringing Kumar back. They have reassured the public that all information shared will be kept confidential to ensure that those with important leads feel safe coming forward. Prayer and vigil gatherings have been organized in local neighborhoods, bringing people together to keep hope alive and provide emotional support to the family during this trying time.

“This is a difficult time for our family, and we are grateful for the outpouring of support,” said Navin during a recent community meeting. “We are hopeful that with the help of the community, we can find Kumar and bring him home safely.”

As the search continues, authorities and family members remain committed to locating Kumar, with the hope that every passing day brings them closer to a resolution. The case is still developing, and updates will be provided as new information emerges. Until then, the community remains united in their resolve to bring Kumar Narine back home safely.
