Krystal Akers Obituary, – Two individuals from Pulaski County, including a young girl aged 11, lost their lives in a car accident in Prince William County on Friday, as confirmed by the Virginia State Police. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Interstate 66 westbound at the 46-mile marker.
Authorities stated that a disabled 2019 Hyundai Tucson had pulled over onto the right shoulder of the interstate when it was struck by an Isuzu NPR HD truck driven by 26-year-old Anthony A.J. David from Hyattsville, Maryland.
David was traveling westbound when he veered off the right side of the interstate and collided with the disabled Tucson. This collision caused the Tucson to hit a jersey wall and be pushed along the shoulder for approximately 400 feet, according to the VSP.
According to state troopers, two passengers in the Tucson, 27-year-old Krystal Akers from Dublin and the 11-year-old girl, unfortunately succumbed to their injuries at a nearby hospital.
The driver of the Tucson, 51-year-old Greggory S. Akers, also from Dublin, sustained serious injuries, as did a three-month-old baby who was in the vehicle, as reported by authorities. We have been informed that another passenger in the Tucson, 55-year-old Tammy Akers, suffered minor injuries.
David sustained minor injuries, while his passenger, 23-year-old Joshua L. Hankey, was seriously injured. According to the VSP, charges are pending in relation to the incident. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
