Kristy Brumley Arrested; – Over a month after the tragic shooting death of a Louisville Metro Department of Corrections officer, law enforcement has made an arrest. On Tuesday, the Louisville Metro Police Department apprehended 35-year-old Kristy Brumley, who faces charges of complicity to murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the death of Officer Michael Wehdah.
Officer Wehdah was fatally shot in an alley located in the Russell neighborhood on February 17. As detailed in the arrest report, Brumley admitted to police that she had taken Wehdah to the site of the shooting. She also stated that she was present when Wehdah was shot by an individual she recognized. The report further indicates that Brumley attempted to conceal or destroy evidence by taking the vehicle and phone belonging to the suspected shooter.
Officials noted that Wehdah had completed his training to become a corrections officer in November of the previous year.
LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey expressed his condolences, stating, “The death of Officer Michael Wehdah is a profound loss for his family, loved ones, and our entire community. We are dedicated to achieving justice for Officer Wehdah, and this arrest represents a significant step in that direction.
