Kristin Kunz Death, Arvada, CO—The sudden passing of Kristin Kunz Courtney on August 19th has left the Courtney and Kunz families in profound grief. Kristin, who suffered a major medical event in the early hours, was rushed to the ICU where a CAT scan revealed severe cerebral edema due to lack of oxygen. Despite the paramedics’ best efforts, Kristin could not be revived. Kristin’s loss has deeply affected her husband, Danny, and their children, Jayden and Brooklynn. Jayden, 15, recently started his sophomore year at Arvada West High School and made the Ralston Valley Varsity Ice Hockey Team, a sport his mother fervently supported.
Brooklynn, who will celebrate her 10th birthday on September 9th, just began 5th grade at Fairmount Elementary and is active in gymnastics, dance, and softball. In response to this tragedy, Lisa Scarafoni has organized a fundraiser to alleviate the financial burden on the Courtney family. The funds raised will cover Kristin’s funeral expenses, medical bills, Jayden’s hockey fees and travel costs, and Brooklynn’s extracurricular activities. The goal is to raise $50,000 to support the family through this difficult period, allowing them to focus on healing.
The community is invited to contribute to the fundraiser, with every donation helping to honor Kristin’s memory and provide crucial support to her loved ones. Messages of support have already begun to pour in, reflecting the deep impact Kristin had on those around her. The generosity of friends, family, and the broader community will play a significant role in helping the Courtney family navigate this challenging time. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Courtney and Kunz families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of immense sorrow.
