Kiyantis Riley,Philip Birdsong Obituary, Death;- Three individuals lost their lives in a devastating crash in the southern suburbs early Sunday morning, according to officials.
Kankakee police reported that officers arrived at the scene of the accident in the 900-block of South Cobb Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m. A 2008 GMC Yukon had veered off the road and collided with a tree, resulting in the vehicle catching fire and becoming completely engulfed in flames.
Despite the officers’ efforts to rescue the occupants from the burning vehicle, they were unable to penetrate the intense fire. The driver and two passengers were declared dead at the scene. The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as 45-year-old Kiyantis Riley, 48-year-old Philip Birdsong, and 41-year-old Jeffrey Clark II, all residents of Kankakee.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident. No additional information is available at this time.
