A woman from northeast Missouri was killed in an accident on Monday morning in Cooper County. It occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Route J, just west of Nelson Lane. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nicole L. Wilson, 37, of Kirksville, drove east and collided with a westbound truck driven by Jonathon D. Kuschel, 41, of Tipton.
The car went off the south side of the road and came to a stop facing south. Cooper County Coroner Chris Howard pronounced Wilson deceased at the scene of the accident shortly before 10:30 a.m. Amanda L. Zingarelli, 43, of Columbia, had minor injuries and was transported to University Hospital by helicopter for treatment.
Kuschel sustained moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to University Hospital. Wilson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Zingarelli and Kuschel weren’t.
