Kioko Boutte Obituary, Death; – New information has emerged regarding the fatal shooting that occurred at the Pecan Acres apartment complex last month.
Eighteen-year-old Kioko Boutte has been identified as one of the two individuals who were shot in the parking lot of the complex on December 29. The Lake Charles Police Department has confirmed that Boutte succumbed to his injuries.
Additionally, Trelon Tarver, aged 23, was also injured in the incident and is currently in the process of recovery. As per Lake Charles Police spokesperson Kevin Kirkum, the shooting is suspected to have been a robbery involving the victims and Leroy Davis Byers Jr., who allegedly fired shots into the vehicle occupied by the victims.
Byers was apprehended on January 6 at 206 Richard Street in Lake Charles without any resistance, according to law enforcement officials. He is facing charges of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and armed robbery, with his bond set at $850,000.
