Kevin Krege Death – The metro Detroit community is grieving the loss of a cherished husband, father, and son following a tragic plane crash on Monday. A fatal plane crash in Washtenaw County claimed the life of a flight instructor and left his student injured on Monday afternoon. Officials confirmed that Kevin Kreger, a 46-year-old resident of Dearborn, was killed in the crash. In addition to his role as a flight instructor, Kreger also worked as a chiropractor in Dearborn, leaving behind a mourning family.
Mercy High School in Farmington Hills expressed their condolences to the Kreger family in a community-wide email on Tuesday morning. The email revealed that Kevin Kreger was the son of Mercy High School President Cheryl Delaney Kreger and John Kreger.
“Our hearts are saddened by this tragic loss, and we offer our deepest sympathies to Cheryl, John, Melissa, Tatiana, and Lakelynn. Let us unite in prayer for the entire Kreger family during this incredibly challenging time, as well as for the recovery of the other flight passenger,” the statement read.
Melissa Kreger, Kevin Kreger’s wife, is a member of the team at Mercy High School, while his daughters, Tatiana Kreger and Lakelynn Kreger, are set to begin their freshman year at the school, according to the email. Michigan State Police confirmed Kevin Kreger as the deceased victim of Monday’s crash.
MSP had previously identified the crash victims as a 46-year-old male flight instructor from Dearborn and a 22-year-old male University of Michigan student from North Carolina on Monday evening. The student survived the crash and is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
The crash occurred at 1:10 p.m. on Monday, according to MSP’s news release. The incident took place northeast of the intersection of East Michigan Avenue and Lima Center Road in Bridgewater Township.
