Born Kelly Hawes on July 17, 1965, Kelly was a vibrant individual whose life was marked by joy and connection with others. She was a proud graduate of Geneva High School and Geneva Vocational School, where she formed many lasting friendships. Kelly had a love for simple pleasures—watching sunsets, bowling, camping, and spending quality time with her friends and family. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she was well-loved by all who knew her.
Kelly married the love of her life, Mark Solarek, with whom she built a beautiful family. Together, they raised five children: Angelica, Kristi, Anthony, Jared, and Sarah. Kelly was also a proud grandmother to Nora Rose and Clara Ann, whom she adored deeply. Her dedication extended to her work with Perry Local Schools, where her positive energy and kind nature were greatly appreciated by colleagues and students alike. Kelly is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, her mother Mary J. Hawes, her stepfather Tom Simonds, and her siblings: Kimmy Wortman, Scott Hawes, Carl Hawes, Stacey Love, and Brian Simonds. Her father, Carl A. Hawes, preceded her in death.
