Kelly Meazell Obituary, Death; – The Austin Police Department has reported that a woman found deceased in a parking lot in East Austin is suspected to have been murdered.
On January 9, at approximately 1:44 a.m., officers responded to an urgent welfare check at 5707 Manor Road. The caller indicated that they had discovered a body in the parking lot, which was lying in a pool of blood. Upon arrival, officers located the body and attempted life-saving measures; however, the victim was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m.
While police did not disclose the specific nature of the woman’s injuries, there were indications of trauma around her neck. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Kelly Meazell. Authorities have stated that Meazell was experiencing homelessness at the time of her death. This incident marks the second homicide in the city for the year.
