Keith Kuffler Obituary, Death; – On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at approximately 5:14 a.m., the Bridge City Police Department received a 911 notification regarding a collision involving two vehicles in the 500 block of Texas Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two semi-trucks with trailers positioned in the center lane, both facing northbound.
The operator of the 2013 Peterbilt semi-truck was identified as Raymond McCain III, a 30-year-old African American male from Port Arthur, Texas. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Emergency Room with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver of the 2016 Freightliner semi-truck was identified as Keith Kuffler, a 48-year-old Caucasian male from Iota, Louisiana. Mr. Kuffler was taken to St. Elizabeth Emergency Room with life-threatening injuries but unfortunately later passed away due to those injuries.
The investigation revealed that the driver of the 2016 Freightliner semi-truck lost control of his speed, resulting in a collision with the trailer being towed by the 2013 Peterbilt semi-truck.
This investigation remains ongoing.
