The person who was taken from a pond last week and later found deceased has been identified by Waukee police.
On August 8, at approximately 3:30 p.m., authorities were called to the 2500 block of Grand Prairie Parkway in reference to a drowning.
Two boys lost their fishing pole when they were out on the pond, according to the Waukee Fire Department. The youngsters contacted 911 when a man who had been working in the vicinity started to struggle after going into the river to recover the pole.
A few hours later, the man—now known as Earlham resident Keith Bychinski, 31—was taken out of the water unconscious.
