A tragic course of events resulted in the loss of three lives when a catastrophic car accident took place on Sunday evening in Springfield Township, Fayette County. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene. At approximately 5:55 in the evening, the incident occurred on Springfield Pike, not far from where it intersects with Mt. Tabor Road.
Raymond Ramage, 38, from Connellsville, Peter Zepf, 28, and Katelin Lorch, 25, both from Pittsburgh, have been identified by state police as the victims. In the collision, there were two sedans, one of which was a Tesla, according to reports. The Normalville Area Fire Department, the Connellsville Township Volunteer Fire Department,
and the Springfield Township Volunteer Hose Company were among the first responders to arrive to the area in a hurry to render assistance. According to the information provided by Trooper Kalee Barnhart of the state police, crash analysis and reconstruction specialists, along with the forensic services unit and the county coroner, were actively trying to determine the cause of the unfortunate accident.
As a result of the event, Springfield Pike was shut down, and roadblocks were placed around a half mile from the location of the collision on both sides. After some time had passed, the debris was removed from the scene in a solemn procession, which was observed by Action News 4 in Pittsburgh.
It is not known at this time whether or not there were any further people who were involved in the collision or if there were any additional injuries that were received. The town has been left in sadness after the death of three cherished lives, and detectives are working feverishly to piece together the circumstances that led up to this heartbreaking catastrophe.
