Virtuoso Travel Vice President Karyn McCarthy of New York has sadly passed away. She died leaving family and friends in sock and disbelief.
She was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that said “I woke up to the heartbreaking news of the passing of a remarkable Virtuoso soldier, Karyn McCarthy.” The actual cause of Karyn McCarthy’s death has not been released.
In her new role, she will oversee the group’s strategic efforts in establishing partnerships, fostering targeted network growth, and enhancing engagement among preferred partners and agency/advisor networks with Virtuoso’s products and programs.
McCarthy’s journey with Virtuoso began in 2015 when she joined as Director of Product Development. In this capacity, she was instrumental in managing the qualification and vetting process for travel suppliers seeking to join the network’s esteemed Preferred Partner programs.
Over the years, her role has expanded, allowing her to leverage her extensive industry experience, valuable network connections, and strong leadership skills within the Global Partnerships team.
With more than 30 years in the travel industry, McCarthy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new position. Her impressive background includes a notable tenure at American Express, where she managed corporate travel accounts for major clients such as Morgan Stanley and Prudential Financial.
Additionally, she served as Senior Director of Corporate Sales for The Leading Hotels of the World, overseeing partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and collaborating closely with top travel agency consortia.
McCarthy’s deep understanding of the travel landscape, combined with her commitment to fostering strong relationships, positions her well to drive growth and innovation within Virtuoso’s network. Her vision for enhancing partnerships and engaging advisors will undoubtedly contribute to the organization’s continued success in the competitive travel industry.
