Karon Beach Murder, Phuket Province, Thailand — On Tuesday, authorities discovered the body of a Russian man in a drain on Karon Beach, Phuket Province. The victim, identified only as “Ilia,” is believed to have been murdered, with his body disposed of in the drain to conceal the crime. Forensic experts reported that the man had suffered multiple injuries, including slashed wrists and blunt force trauma to the left side of his head, above the ear.
It is estimated that he had been deceased for at least eight hours before the discovery. According to Pol Captain Peerawat Yordtor of Karon Police, the body was found around 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were informed by local residents that they did not recognize the victim, and no personal identification documents were found with him.
Further investigation revealed that Ilia had entered Phuket on a group visa on April 24. The visa had expired on July 22, indicating that he had been in the country illegally for some time before his death. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. They are working to identify the victim and determine the motive behind the apparent murder.
