Karlie D Parson Obituary, Death; – A tragic incident occurred in Edgar County on Wednesday night, resulting in the death of a woman. According to Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett, 28-year-old Karlie D. Parson from Paris lost her life in a single-vehicle accident.
At 9:02 p.m., another motorist contacted 911, reporting that he encountered a car overturned in the center of the road while traveling south on Lower Terre Haute Road.
Emergency responders, including the Edgar County Sheriff’s Department, Horizon Health EMS, Paris Fire Department, and Oliver Fire Department, arrived at the scene and subsequently notified the coroner. The coroner determined that Parson succumbed to blunt force trauma, having been ejected from the vehicle during the incident.
Investigations by deputies revealed that Parson was driving south on Lower Terre Haute Road when her vehicle veered off the icy road into a ditch on the west side. The car then returned to the roadway before veering back into the ditch, where it collided with a metal culvert and overturned. The vehicle ultimately came to rest on its roof in the middle of the road, approximately half a mile north of East 800th Road.
The Edgar County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
