Karl Maisel Obituary – The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has confirmed the identity of a motorcyclist who was killed in an accident at the I-25 and MLK Bypass off-ramp. On the 11th of July, 2024, CSPD was called to the scene of an accident involving a lone motorcycle rider who had sustained life-threatening injuries.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, the rider, identified as 65-year-old Karl Maisel, succumbed to his injuries. According to CSPD, Maisel lost control of his motorcycle while exiting the highway, and there are no indications of any other vehicles being involved.
This incident marks the 31st traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year, with 25 fatalities recorded at the same time last year. Over the past year, there have been a total of 56 traffic-related deaths in Colorado Springs.
