Karelys Almeda Sola Death – The Killeen Police Department is currently investigating a fatal car crash that resulted in the death of one person on Friday morning. On May 10, at approximately 5:50 a.m., authorities responded to the 12300 block of State Highway 195 following reports of a collision. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a semi-truck trailer and a black sedan at the intersection.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the semi-truck trailer was stationary at a yield sign facing westbound in the intersection of the north and southbound lanes. The trailer was maneuvering to turn left onto State Highway 195, obstructing the northbound turn-lane and inside lanes. Subsequently, a black Nissan sedan traveling northbound in the inside lane collided with the back-left of the trailer.
The driver of the sedan, identified as 30-year-old Karelys Almeda Sola, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. Unfortunately, Sola later passed away due to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 6:49 a.m. Police have notified the next of kin.
The driver of the semi-truck involved in the incident did not sustain any injuries. Currently, no further details are available regarding the case.
