Kalyl Young Obituary, Death;- The Metropolitan Police Department is conducting an investigation into a deadly shooting that occurred in Northwest.
On Friday, April 5, 2025, at around 10:41 p.m., officers from the Fourth District were dispatched to the 700 block of Otis Place, Northwest, following reports of a shooting incident.
Upon their arrival, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound. The DC Fire and EMS team responded promptly and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for medical care. Tragically, on Saturday, April 6, 2025, despite all attempts to save him, the victim was declared deceased. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Kalyl Young, a resident of Northwest, DC.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding this incident to refrain from taking any action and instead contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a text tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for any homicide in the District of Columbia.
