CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A juvenile has been charged after being found with a firearm that was purchased from another juvenile, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
On Feb. 5, officers investigated a juvenile’s home because they believed they had multiple firearms. During the search, they found two firearms and a drum magazine in his room, one of which was stolen, officials said. The juvenile was arrested for possession of a handgun by a minor and possession of a stolen firearm.

Investigators found out that one of the firearms was purchased from another juvenile. Police say a Secure Custody Order was approved and that the juvenile was taken to the Cabarrus County Juvenile Detention Center.
“This case highlights the critical role of proactive juvenile enforcement in preventing violent crime and keeping firearms out of the hands of young offenders,” CMPD said.
