Justin Hall Port Alberni Obituary, Death: Amber Manthorne Boyfriend was found dead in Merritt in 2023 – More than two years after Amber Manthorne’s disappearance, the Port Alberni RCMP have confirmed their belief that she is likely dead, and her boyfriend, Justin Hall, who passed away in 2023, was a suspect in her case.
Manthorne was first reported missing on the evening of July 8, 2022, from her home on Central Lake Road in Port Alberni. Despite extensive searches, she has not been seen or heard from since. In a recent update, RCMP Const. Beth O’Connor stated, “Police believe that Amber’s disappearance was a result of foul play and that she is not likely to be found alive.”
Hall, who was initially described as a “person of interest,” was discovered deceased in Merritt in 2023. Although his identity and relationship with Manthorne were not previously disclosed, police have now shared this information in hopes of gathering more leads in the ongoing investigation.
CCTV footage from July 2022 shows Hall driving Manthorne’s vehicle, a white 2021 Jeep Compass, before it was found abandoned in Ladysmith on July 9. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Amber’s disappearance or Justin Hall’s actions during that time to come forward, as they continue to search for answers and closure for Amber’s loved ones.
