Juan Francisco Grajeda Obituary, Death; – El Paso police have announced the identification of a 20-year-old man believed to be responsible for the murder of a 49-year-old man nearly three years ago. The suspect has been in county jail for over six months.
The El Paso Police Department reported that Kenneth Seind Gaucin, aged 20, was charged with murder on March 7 in relation to the death of Juan Francisco Grajeda. Grajeda was discovered deceased in his apartment located on the 1200 block of N. Laurel, near Cotton Street in Central, under suspicious circumstances in June 2022.
Following an investigation, authorities identified Gaucin as a suspect and confirmed that he had been in police custody since June 16, 2024, when he was arrested on charges related to assaulting a peace officer or a judge. Gaucin has since been rebooked on a murder charge with a bond set at $500,000.
In June 2022, officers discovered Grajeda’s body while conducting a welfare check. Subsequently, detectives and investigators from the EPPD’s criminalistics unit began examining the circumstances of Grajeda’s death, suspecting foul play.
Details regarding the condition in which Grajeda’s body was found have not been disclosed by authorities, as they were concerned that such information could compromise the ongoing criminal investigation.
