Joshua Johnston Hayes Obituary, – A woman from Birmingham is currently incarcerated after being charged in connection with a fatal shooting that took place at a residence in Huffman in April. According to the authorities, Kayla White, who is 31 years old, has been accused of murder in the death of Joshua Johnston Hayes, a 27-year-old individual.
The police were notified of the incident shortly before 11 a.m. on April 2. The call reported that a person had been shot at a residence located in the 900 block of Navarro Lane. Upon arrival at the scene, officers from Irondale were the first to respond and discovered that a man had succumbed to a gunshot wound. Law enforcement officials stated that the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute between White and Hayes, who were involved in a romantic relationship.
Birmingham Police took White into custody for questioning and she was detained on a 48-hour felony extension for murder, as confirmed by the police. On May 29, detectives presented the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, which subsequently issued a warrant for murder. On June 6, Helena police conducted a traffic stop and apprehended White, who was then arrested based on the murder warrant.
She is currently being held without the possibility of bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
