Joshua Gonzales,Jay Gonzales Obituary, Death;- A father and his teenage son have tragically lost their lives following a shooting incident at their residence in Texas City early on Monday morning. The Texas City Police Department arrived at the scene located on 10th Avenue North near 3rd Street North at approximately 1:20 a.m.
The deceased include a 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed, along with his 41-year-old father, who may have succumbed to a medical emergency. An autopsy is currently underway to ascertain the cause of the father’s death.
The Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victims as Joshua Gonzales and his father, Jay Gonzales. Authorities are in the process of questioning the individual believed to be the shooter; however, as of the latest update, no charges have been filed.
The Texas City Police Department has assured the public that there is no ongoing threat. The Texas City Independent School District has confirmed that one of the victims was a student at their institution, expressing their devastation over the incident.
“We are profoundly saddened by the loss of one of our students, and our thoughts are with the family and all those who cared for them during this challenging time,” stated TCISD. “The well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we have made counselors available to assist anyone in need of support as they cope with their grief. Together, we will strive to support our school community as we navigate this tragedy.”
