Josh Burns, 37, of Sterling, OH, Tragically Killed in Motorcycle Accident – Obituary, Death
Josh Burns, a devoted husband, father, and member of the Sterling community, passed away on Friday night, May 10, 2024, at Summa Akron City Hospital, following a motorcycle accident.
Josh was born on October 21, 1986, to Jim and Micki (Roberts) Burns of Akron, Ohio. He attended Copley High School and graduated in 2005. He was an active participant in the Four Cities Compact in Construction.
Josh married Ashley Bauman on July 2, 2011, and they had three children together. He was a dedicated member of the Smithville Brethren church and a passionate Christian.
Josh worked as an equipment operator for the Wadsworth City Street Department and owned and operated J & A Angus Beef in Sterling. He was a skilled craftsman and farmer, inspired by his family’s farm in Canada.
Apart from his work and family, Josh enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing guitar, and attending OSU Buckeyes football games with his father. He was a devoted parent, coaching his son’s baseball and football teams and supporting his daughters’ cheerleading, dancing, and gymnastics performances.
Josh will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and tireless dedication.
His family includes his wife, Ashley; children, Bryson, Avery, and Emery; parents, Jim and Micki Burns; siblings, Jake and Emily; and numerous relatives and friends.
Josh’s family and friends will hold a celebration of life service at the Smithville Brethren Church on May 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. to honor his memory.
