Joseph Peggs Obituary, Death; – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation following the death of a Cambridge City resident who was reportedly trapped under a skid steer.
As stated in a news release, deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding an unresponsive individual in the 100 block of East North Street in Milton at approximately 12:29 p.m. on Wednesday.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a man, later identified as 57-year-old Joseph Peggs, trapped beneath an overturned skid steer. First responders successfully extricated Peggs from beneath the machinery and promptly initiated medical assistance, according to the release.
Unfortunately, Peggs was pronounced dead after being transported to a nearby hospital. The preliminary investigation into the incident indicates that it was “a tragic accident.”
The release expressed heartfelt condolences to Mr. Peggs’ family and loved ones, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.”
