Joseph L. Criswell Obituary – One individual has passed away and nine others were wounded following a head-on collision on Saturday evening in Kosciusko County. The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release that law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene of the crash just after 5:30 p.m. upon receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision. The incident took place on County Road 150 West, located south of County Road 400 North.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered a Tesla and a black Chevrolet SUV involved in the collision. Preliminary findings indicated that the Tesla, driven by 31-year-old Anish Daita from Warsaw, was traveling northbound on CR 150 West and veered left of the center line, resulting in a head-on collision with the SUV.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 44-year-old Joseph L. Criswell from Milford, Ind., was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office. The SUV was carrying six juvenile passengers, all of whom received medical attention for various injuries. Three passengers were transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne, with two being airlifted and one being taken by EMS.
Daita sustained internal injuries and was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment. Two other adult passengers were treated for minor injuries at the crash site.
The incident remains under investigation.
