Jolene Arreak Obituary, Death; – The Ottawa Police Service has confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally injured on Christmas Day in the Hintonburg area of the capital.
The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Jolene Arreak, a resident of Ottawa. Authorities have informed her next of kin regarding the incident.
The investigation into Arreak’s homicide commenced when police discovered her body at approximately 6:10 p.m. in a residence located on the 100 block of Spadina Avenue, according to law enforcement officials.
Additionally, officers reported that there was another “surviving victim who received treatment at a hospital and has since been released.” Further details regarding the circumstances of the incident have not been disclosed by the police.
On Thursday morning, both the front and rear of the residence were cordoned off with police tape, and a police vehicle was observed stationed outside the property. In a news release issued on Thursday morning, police announced that a male suspect is currently in custody.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Manasi Foo, also from Ottawa, faces charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder. He made his court appearance on Boxing Day.
