John Todd, Obituary, Titan Of Australian Rules football, So Help Me Todd, WA football legend, Has Passed away: We grieve the loss of Australian rules football legend John Herbert Todd, who passed away at the age of 86, along with the WAFL and AFL communities. During his amazing career, John Todd participated in 132 games as a player, 721 games as a coach, and 13 games as a Western Australian representative. In football, Todd has left a huge legacy. He coached East Fremantle to victory in the 1974 flag, one of his six WAFL Premiership victories.
Other achievements include being named an All-Australian, taking home the coveted Sandover Medal, and being inducted into both the Australian and West Australian Football Halls of Fame. He has had a lasting impact on the sport and set an example for upcoming generations with his services. John Todd, who was lovingly referred to as “Toddy,” had an influence on Australian football that went beyond the pitch. Everyone listened to Todd talk about football.
