John O Brien Obituary – A male individual has passed away and a female individual sustained injuries following a motorcycle collision in a town within the Lakes Region. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the incident on Route 109 near the Abenaki Tower, and promptly dispatched deputies, Stuart’s Ambulance Service, and the Tuftonboro Fire/EMS Department.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders discovered John O’Brien, a 55-year-old resident of Tuftonboro, unconscious and with significant injuries. The authorities also found a 42-year-old woman from Maine who was injured but remained conscious.
Both O’Brien and the woman were transported to Huggins Hospital. Unfortunately, O’Brien succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival at the hospital. The woman, due to the severity of her injuries, was airlifted to Concord Hospital.
According to authorities, O’Brien’s motorcycle tipped over, veered off the road, collided with a utility pole, and struck several large rocks before coming to a stop.
While the cause of the crash is currently being investigated, authorities have stated that it does not appear to be related to weather conditions, unfamiliarity with the road, or mechanical failure.
