According to History Colorado, he was a significant advocate in the establishment of Great Outdoors Colorado and was one of the board members who had been nominated by the governor at the organization’s inception. In addition, he was instrumental in the passage of the Colorado Wilderness Act of 1933. This law protected large swaths of land in the state.

On Saturday afternoon, the Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, sent out a letter to inform people about the demise of his father. Fielder stated on his website that he provided History Colorado with roughly 7,500 pictures.
