John Enright Death, Obituary Farmington, CT – The community is mourning the loss of John Michael Enright, who passed away on October 23, 2024, after a courageous six-month battle with cancer. He was 34 years old. John was born on July 12, 1990, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to John Lewis and Susan McLoughlin Enright of Stratford. He received his early education at St. Mark School and later attended Bunnell High School, where he developed a passion for sports and communication. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Communication from Marist College.
During his time at Marist, John forged lifelong friendships and was known for his spirited involvement in campus activities. He was particularly proud of being a member of the intramural dodgeball team, humorously named “John Enright & His Merry Men.” This camaraderie laid the foundation for many of his cherished memories during college. Following graduation, John achieved his dream job as a creative producer at ESPN. He often described his time at the network as formative, citing it as the place where he grew both personally and professionally.
It was at ESPN that he met his wife, Amanda Wagner Enright, an animator, marking a significant chapter in his life. The couple married last year on Cape Cod, a testament to their love and shared interests. In addition to his professional accomplishments, John was a devoted pet owner, taking joy in caring for his dog, Frito. His commitment to family and friends was evident in all aspects of his life. As news of his passing spreads, many are coming together to honor John’s memory and celebrate his impact on those around him.
