John Berger Obituary, – On Thursday evening (July 18th) at approximately 6:13, the Wadena County Sheriff’s Department was called to respond to a farm equipment rollover incident in rural Bullard Township, located north of Staples.Upon arrival, first responders discovered a front-end loader tractor overturned in the ditch along County Road 30, with the operator trapped beneath it.
The operator, identified as 79-year-old John Berger from Frazee, was declared deceased at the scene. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the accident. Assistance was provided by the Staples Police Department, Staples Fire and Rescue, Lakewood Health Ambulance Service, Karvonen Funeral Home, and Scott’s Southtown Towing.
