Joe Leach Obituary – Walkerton, Ontario, mourns the loss of Joe Leach, a long-time resident who passed away recently. Joe’s life will be celebrated at a memorial gathering on Friday, July 19th, at the Knights of Columbus hall from 5pm to 9pm. All are invited to join in remembering Joe and sharing stories of his impactful life. Joe Leach was more than just a resident of Walkerton, he was a cornerstone of the community. Known for his kindness and generosity, Joe touched the lives of many through his involvement in local activities and his warm, welcoming personality.
Four years after his shooting death, the family of Joe Leach is still waiting for answers. Leach, 64, was shot in the back while trying to escape an armed robbery at his auto body shop on West Galbraith Road in North College Hill, police say. The suspect can be seen on surveillance video but has not been caught. Leach died in the hospital a few days later. “We know there’s someone that knows,” Carla Broshear, Leach’s daughter, told FOX19 NOW. “They just won’t talk.” Wednesday, Jan. 8 marked the four-year anniversary of the shooting—and four yeas of the family searching for closure.
“I think the faith has turned into anger,” Broshear said. “And it’s unfortunate, because you always want to have faith.” During the gathering, there will be a bar available for those who wish to purchase beverages, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and support. Additionally, donations towards PSC Partners Seeking a Cure Canada will be accepted, honoring Joe’s charitable spirit and commitment to helping others even beyond his lifetime. As friends and acquaintances come together to honor Joe Leach, it’s a chance to reflect on the importance of community and the impact one person can have.
