Jodie Cannon Obituary, Death; – Louisiana State Police are conducting an investigation into a tragic hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on Sunday. According to Trooper Matt Gaspard, at approximately 4 a.m. on February 9, 17-year-old Jodie Cannon from Longville was fatally struck on U.S. 171 near A.D. Hodges Road. Gaspard reported that Cannon was located in the right southbound lane of U.S. 171 when he was hit by a vehicle, which subsequently fled the scene.
Cannon suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the location of the incident. Troopers and detectives from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations-Sulphur Field Office have been actively pursuing various leads since the accident. Through their investigative efforts, a possible vehicle and driver have been identified, although additional forensic analysis is still required.
