She began her professional journey as a high school English teacher at Franklin Road Academy, impacting the lives of countless students. Many of them fondly reconnected with her later in life, crediting her mentorship for shaping their futures.
Jodie’s entrepreneurial spirit shined brightly when she launched “Let’s Play House,” a business named after her daughter’s love of playing house. This endeavor eventually led her to the luxury real estate market in Nashville, where she thrived. Over the years, Jodie received numerous accolades, including Platinum and Sapphire Level Awards of Excellence and recognition as one of the Top 25 Agents in Middle Tennessee by the Nashville Business Journal. Her column, “News from the Homefront”, redefined real estate reporting, blending wit and insight in a way that resonated deeply with readers.
Beyond her professional success, Jodie was known for her athletic ability and passion for fitness. She could often be found running the 5.8-mile loop at Percy Warner Park, even while pushing a stroller with two babies.
