Joann Epping Obituary, Death;- On Friday, authorities confirmed the identity of a pedestrian who lost her life in a collision in Kearney. According to the Kearney Police Department, 83-year-old Joann Epping, a resident of Kearney, succumbed to injuries sustained after being struck by a pickup truck.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of West 13th Street and Central Avenue. Investigators reported that Epping was in the process of crossing the street when she was impacted by a pickup operated by a 58-year-old man from Kearney.
She was subsequently transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Buffalo County attorney has mandated an autopsy to be conducted. The Kearney Police Department indicated that the driver of the pickup is fully cooperating with the investigation.
