Jett Ballard Death: Jett Ballard, a vibrant 14-year-old from Berea, was looking forward to a fun-filled weekend with friends and family in Estill County. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a joyous occasion turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when Jett was accidentally shot.
A Mother’s Grief
“When that day comes, when you get that phone call, that someone that you love is taken from you…” said Jett’s mother, LaAsia Ballard, unable to finish her sentence as grief overcame her. Raising a large family, including eight children and a dozen grandchildren, is no small feat. LaAsia reflected on the joy and light Jett brought into their lives.
Jett’s Competitive Spirit
“He was so competitive,” LaAsia reminisced, smiling through her tears. “He would talk so much smack to his brother every time he beat him in Madden.” Jett’s competitive nature was a defining characteristic, and his enthusiasm for games brought much laughter and joy to his family. His close bond with his older brother was especially poignant, showcasing the deep connections he had within his family.
A Life Cherished
Jett’s sudden and tragic death has left a void in the hearts of his loved ones. The family remembers him as a beacon of light and joy, whose presence would light up any room. His competitive spirit and loving nature will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
