A tragic two-vehicle collision in Gaines County claimed the life of a Seminole woman on Wednesday morning after a semi-truck reportedly failed to yield at an intersection.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that troopers responded to the accident at approximately 8:49 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, at the intersection of US 385 and County Road 124.
According to investigators, 47-year-old Jesus Hernandez of El Paso was driving a 2000 Kenworth semi-truck westbound on CR 124. Although he stopped at the intersection, he failed to yield the right of way before entering the highway. As a result, his truck collided with a northbound 2024 Ford Bronco.
The driver of the Bronco, identified as 35-year-old Mindy Sue Moreno of Seminole, was pronounced dead at the scene. Hernandez was not injured in the crash.
Authorities noted that foggy conditions were present at the time, though it remains unclear whether weather played a role in the accident.
The incident remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
