Jerry Charles Becka Jr Death – Lumberton Police are currently investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that resulted in the death of an 80-year-old man on Tuesday night. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on U.S. Highway 69 at M-Video Road in Lumberton.
A Honda Civic was heading southbound on Highway 69 and attempted to make a left turn onto M-Video Road. The driver of the Civic turned into the path of a 2022 Ford Bronco traveling northbound on Highway 69, as reported by Lumberton Police Department Chief Danny Sullins.
The driver of the Honda Civic failed to yield to the Ford Bronco, resulting in the tragic death of the passenger in the Civic, identified as Jerry Charles Becka Jr., 80, from Lumberton.
Both drivers involved in the collision were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries, according to the police. As the investigation continues, we will provide further updates as more information becomes available
